Confidential communications change from system to system. When it comes to consent, informed consent and privilege under memorandums of understanding between agencies, it can be challenging to know what and when you can share. In this training, you’ll hear the legal and mental health perspective shared about the rules of confidentiality, and how to navigate those opportunities with your multi-disciplinary team members! Geared toward those in law enforcement, mental health, medical, child protection services, youth serving organizations and non-profits.

Speakers

Teri Corrigan MSW, CSW-PIP, QMHP
Teri owns and operates Best Life Solutions LLC, in Rapid City. She is a mental health therapist and supervisor, as well as a consultant and trainer for mental health and wellness topics. Teri is a passionate advocate for mental health and well-being. She believes that together we can improve our systems of mental health care and strive for a more accepting and balanced mental wellness culture.

Tracey Decker JD
Tracey has practiced in the Rapid City area since she graduated from the Knudson School of Law at USD in 1999. She worked with the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office for nearly 20 years and now serves as the Attorney Consultant for the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence & Sexual Assault. Tracey provides trainings across the state for law enforcement officers, prosecutors and victim advocates about the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault. She continues to support the State Bar of South Dakota through her service on its Ethics and Women In Law Committees. She currently serves on the One Heart Board of Directors in Rapid City, SD.
