This Statement of Privacy applies to and Children’s Home Society of South Dakota (CHS) and governs data collection and usage. By using this website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.


CHS does not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services available on our website. These may include: sending us an email message; filling out a form; purchasing a product from our website; submitting your credit card or other payment information when purchasing a product or making a donation on our website. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. The information you submit may be shared internally with CHS employees who need this information to help respond to your request or improve CHS operations. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.


CHS offers you with the opportunity to receive e-newsletters and publications related to CHS programs, services, news, and announcements. You can sign up for free and can unsubscribe at any time through the contact information contained in those communications.

It is possible that an email may be accessed or read by other Internet users, which is beyond the control of CHS. Please do not use email for communications you wish to keep protected and secure.


CHS requests information from you on our product order forms and donation forms. Purchasing or donating online is completely voluntary. To purchase a product from us or make an online donation, you must provide contact information (such as name and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your purchase order or process your donation. If we have trouble processing an order or donation, we may use this information to contact you.


CHS does not sell, rent, or lease its customer or donor lists to third parties.

CHS may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to CHS, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
