SHELTER FOR
FAMILY SAFETY
Prevention and Education Classes
We offer both individual and group classes at the Shelter for Family Safety.
Common Sense Parenting Classes
Common Sense Parenting classes provide parents with proven techniques to help build positive family relationships, prevent and correct misbehavior, use consequences to improve behavior, teach self control, and stay calm. The program also addresses potential internet dangers and how to manage problems at school.
You will receive information to help set reasonable expectations for children and create a predictable family structure—tactics that improve behavior while helping children feel safe and secure.
Common Sense Parenting classes meet once a week for six weeks.

Healthy Dating for Middle and High School Students
Healthy Dating is an interactive training that provides youth with an understanding of healthy versus unhealthy dating relationships, how to identify red flags and dating violence and how to get help for themselves or a peer if they are in a dating violence situation. It also provides community resources available for them to share or use for themselves if they are in an unsafe relationship.
