It’s official! Children’s Home Society (CHS) is creating a new campus in Rapid City to serve families and children in the Black Hills. It will be located at the site previously occupied by National American University. The renovation will use trauma-informed design principles and is scheduled for completion in 2026.

All CHS services offered in the Black Hills will be located at the new campus for greater efficiencies, collaboration and capabilities. These include:

  • Psychiatric residential treatment for children ages 4-14
  • School for children in residential treatment (and soon day school)
  • Outpatient therapy for children and families
  • Therapeutic Foster Care
  • Adoption Services (Wendy’s Wonderful Kids and post-adoption)
  • Family Engagement Services
  • Children’s Home Child Advocacy Center – forensic interviewing of children
  • Child abuse prevention
