Details Join us for this FREE online event to learn more about how to help prevent child sexual abuse and handle disclosures.

If you work with or parent children or youth, it’s critical to understand how to help prevent child sexual abuse and handle disclosures.

“It’s Not Just Jenna” is a 30-minute video about child sexual abuse followed by discussion. “What if…?” card sets are an interactive teaching tool designed to help adults evaluate a child’s understanding of challenging situations and help children learn to respond; participants will receive a free set of “What If…?” cards. In the final session, participants will learn how to receive a disclosure–and how to offer support to the individual and the investigation.

Objectives:

  • Learn behavior signs in adults that might indicate they pose a risk to youth
  • Understand how sexual abusers “groom” victims AND families
  • Recognize behavior signs in youth that may indicate they are being or have been abused
  • Know why it is difficult for victims to disclose
  • Become confident in understanding how to handle disclosures
  • Learn tools to positively navigate conversations involving real-life situations
