Whether you are a new or returning educator, you may wonder how to support students during difficult times. It’s important to have a comprehensive strategy to prevent sexual abuse and to protect children in your care.

Start the school year off on a positive note, learning about the emotional intelligence of students, parents and colleagues. Creating a self-care plan is essential for any caregiver who works with vulnerable children and/ or adults, as well as for parents and youth 14+.

Series objective:

  • Understand the nature and scope of child sexual abuse and exploitation
  • Recognize and respond to boundary-violating behaviors
  • Learn how to respond to disclosures and understand your role as a mandatory reporter
  • Understand the difference between IQ and EQ
  • Discuss the components of EI and how to increase individual EI
  • Explore the various domains of self-care
  • Discuss the components of a self-care safety plan
