Details Hearing more reports about the increase in drug use? Multi-Disciplinary Team members are encouraged to join this free online training with Special Agent Whittle from Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team (UNET) and Trista Dupres, DCI Special Agent.

Multidisciplinary teams consist of professionals from a variety of roles with a variety of skills who work together to help stop child abuse. This free, online training series helps these professionals learn more about what each role brings to the table.

First, we will explore vicarious trauma and its impact on professionals. By learning how trauma impacts the brain and behavior, we can increase personal resiliency. Next, we’ll learn about drug use in the community and Drug Endangered Child Protocol. Finally, we’ll take an in-depth look at the role of a family advocate in child abuse Investigations.

Objectives:

  • Understand the risk of indirect exposure to trauma.
  • Recognize the difference between burnout and vicarious trauma.
  • Identify the symptoms of vicarious trauma.
  • Learn about current drug trends in our communities and Drug Endangered Children protocols.
  • Understand the role of a family advocate in Child Abuse Investigations
