    Elevate Rapid City Hosts Spring Mixer at New CHS Campus

    What: Elevate Rapid City is hosting its Q2 Spring Mixer at the new Children’s Home Society (CHS) campus. Attendees can learn how CHS prevents, treats and heals trauma and the positive impact the new campus will have on the Black Hills region. Elevates quarterly mixers bring together professionals, leaders and community members to connect and build relationships.

    A Legacy of Care in the Black Hills

    • Late 1800s: Children’s Home Society (CHS) begins serving children and families in the Black Hills.
    • 1972: Opens Black Hills Children’s Home in Rockerville, SD.
    • 1999: Expands services to include Children’s Home Advocacy Center (CAC).
    • 2002: Adds foster care and adoption services in Rapid City.
    • 2003: Serves 540 children through four programs.
    • 2025: Serves more than 3,000 children and families through eight programs.
    • 2025: Launches Outpatient Mental Health Services.
    • 2025: Opens Lincoln School in partnership with Rapid City Area Schools.
    • Elevate Rapid City will donate blankets to CAC.
      • Each person who is interviewed at the CAC leaves with a handmade blanket, symbolizing warmth, comfort and support as clients begin their healing journey.
    • CHS will be offer hard hat tours during the event.
    • Attendees can explore the completed wing and view progress on the remaining campus.
    • Community members can see firsthand how the new campus will expand services and support more children and families.
