I’m just curious about the mask requirement that we have been under for quite a while. Since almost all organizations have removed the mask mandate why are we still required to wear a mask? We can go into our doctor’s office and also into the hospital and are not required to have a mask on. Please give us an update on this policy.

The leadership team continues to track COVID requirements from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

As a Medicaid funding recipient, we must follow the CMS guidelines to the letter. We know it can be frustrating especially in light of the fact that President Biden signed an executive order last month formally ending the COVID emergency. The CMS has indicated that it hopes to provide guidance “soon” on masking and the like.

It is my commitment to update you with more definitive information as soon as it comes our way. In the meantime, thanks for everything you do each day to make CHS such an exceptional organization.
