ASK THE CEO:
You Asked. We Answer.
A new question to Ask The CEO was submitted on the GOOD WORKS portal:
Love the VTO benefit, but how are overnight staff to use VTO? There are obviously no volunteer opportunities during our overnight shifts. Can we volunteer for 8 hours during the day and use VTO to take our overnight shift off?
Thanks for this week’s “Ask the CEO” question which asks about Volunteer Time Off for overnight staff.
Applause, applause for wanting to volunteer! Giving back for the benefit of others is a true gift to our community.
CHS’s Voluntary Time Off (VTO) policy is designed to allow staff to volunteer during the time they would otherwise be working. Yes, folks who work overnight do have opportunities to volunteer in the community during the overnight hours. We ask that you volunteer during your normal “workday” to avoid staffing shortages.
The following links offer some potential overnight volunteer opportunities.
Thank you for the question and more importantly, thank you for your willingness to give back to our community!
