A new question to Ask The CEO was submitted on the GOOD WORKS portal:

It is really frustrating that the new Madsen Down playground does not have a swing set. Multiple Madsen staff have mentioned and brought up how many of our children have sensory needs and disorders.

Swing sets are a great resource for the kids. Is there a way that direct care staff can have a say in what would work best for our kids?

The recent lovely early fall weather reminds us of all the importance of getting outside and having some fun. The timing is perfect for this week’s “Ask the CEO” question which asks about the new playground.

We are thrilled that the equipment is in place and the kids are enjoying the new place to play! One question has been asked about why there aren’t swings. The simple answer: there is just not enough space, as we need 16 feet of clearance by code. Of course there are opportunities to swing away on the other playground on campus, so we encourage folks to have fun as they and the kiddos see fit.

A huge thank you to CHS friends and supporters Duane and Ann Stich who provided the generous donation to make the new playground possible. The playground will eventually be named to honor Duane’s parents.
