Child Advocacy Center Community Based Services
The CHS prevention team has kicked off the second Enough Abuse cohort training. This intensive program dives deep into the research about prevention education focused on childhood sexual abuse.
The cohort includes 23 passionate professionals from across South Dakota communities that have answered the call to help keep kids safe.
Due to COVID-19 and the distance between learners, we are offering these intense courses via Zoom, broken out over the next few months. Those who complete the training course will be able to receive their certificates of completion as Enough Abuse trainers in early 2021.
Check out additional training opportunities here.
Community Conversations
In addition to their other responsibilities, Child Advocacy Center staff continue to lead community conversations on how systems can better collaborate to support people who have experienced victimization.
Rapid City multi-disciplinary team members meet monthly to discuss how to better address victimization in our community by providing a trauma-informed, holistic approach.
This new community effort will be supported by the development of Community Based Family Engagement Case Management programming. CHS and our community are looking to the future to prevent trauma and respond to children and families in need.
