Board Votes To Move Forward With NAU
History was made at the 2023 Annual Board Meeting when the Board of Directors voted unanimously to purchase the National American University building in Rapid City as the future site of all Black Hills services. It’s an investment in the future of families in South Dakota— and our staff—and we couldn’t be more excited!
ANNUAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
Watch the Board Meeting video that was played at the opening of the annual meeting for an overview of 2023. Every CHS employee has a cameo appearance in this video year in review!
Monday, September 23, was a momentous day at Sioux Falls Children’s Home! Staff watched a bulldozer demolish the Haugo Dining Hall in a matter of hours to begin the first phase of construction on a new dining
hall, which is scheduled to be finished in June 2024.
The new building will be a 6,200-square-foot, state-of-the art facility with seating for 112. It features a modern kitchen/prep area, along with a backup generator. The deck seating area will offer an abundance of natural light and a view of the pond. Benefits also include private dining areas for families who come to visit, noise control reduction, a recovery room and a nursing room.
What’s Cookin’ in Construction offers news on a regular basis as the SFCH new dining hall project progresses. This week’s updates include photos of the bulldozer in action and Koch Hazard’s architectural renderings
