Young Authors Celebrated at BHCH
Students in Jennifer Williams’ class at BHCH Owen School recently celebrated the publication of their (first) book!
You Want to Know WHAT About Wild Animals? was written by Jennifer’s students, illustrated by Teacher Gillian Spiva, with coloring and additional illustrations also from students.
“Over the course of my career, I have been a huge advocate for lifting the spirits of the students I work with,” said Jennifer. “I wanted to do something incredibly special for the students in my class. I called the publisher, gave them the deadline for our work to be submitted...”

Conference Room Technology Improvements
The IT Department has been working with Mid States Audio & Video to provide functional, easy-to-use video conferencing for CHS. A temporary solution is in place in the Room with a View at SFCH, and the vendor is waiting for delivery of additional equipment.
Mid States expects our equipment to arrive this month. Once it does, we will schedule installation at SFCH in the Room with a View and the Board Room and in the Shelter for Family Safety’s Conference Room. IT is planning for comparable solutions at BHCH and Messengers, and in smaller conference rooms at all campuses.
IT will inform staff when installation is scheduled. Following completion, IT will work with directors to ensure staff receive training to use the new equipment.
