Keeping Our Campus Safe
We are excited to see the continued dining hall construction efforts at SFCH. As we all know, with a building project come inconveniences.
Safety is our top priority in everything we do on our campus. The parking policy adjustments are intended to ensure that everyone stays safe, especially now that daylight hours are shorter and winter is here.
Here are the guidelines for parking on campus. We ask that you adhere to these policies. Currently, we have two main requirements with regards to parking:
1. Day shift staff are to park by the maintenance shed or around the curve to the south. For those working day shifts, unless you have a reserved spot or have approval from your supervisor to park closer, you must park south of the orange cones put in place by Maintenance.
Supervisors: if a staff member has an approved need to park closer, please relay this to the maintenance department so they can assign and adjust evening parking spots.
2. Backing into parking spots is a CHS policy—again, for the safety of children and adults. We do not have sidewalks for foot traffic, so backing in allows for a safer exit when you leave. If there is a reason you are unable to back into a parking space, you will need to park as far back towards the south entrance as possible to reduce risk for children, visitors and other staff walking in the lot.

The 35th anniversary of Media One Funski—a benefit for Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety—will be held at Great Bear Ski Valley on February 2-3. What started as a cross country ski race has become an event with activities for everyone. Media One Funski has raised more than $1 million to support the programs and services of Shelter for Family Safety!
CHS is excited to offer free registrations to employees who would like to participate in any of the events; check out funski.org for an event lineup. Click here to learn more!
