Good Works Weekly
For more than 10 years, the City of Sioux Falls has held Paint the Plow contests. They’re a favorite among middle school and elementary children.
Not to be outdone, children in residential care at SFCH had their own Paint the Plow activity, led by Nici Petrich, Clinical Unit Supervisor, and her staff on the Van Demark Up Unit.
The artwork also honors CHS Facilities Worker Keith Christofferson, who many of the kids know. An early version of the paint job even featured his name (misspelled).
Staff and children alike are grateful to “Kieth” and the entire Facilities team for their hard work during winter weather.
At all our locations, Facilities staff battle snow, ice, frigid temps and fierce winds—sometimes clocking in as early as 3:00 or 4:00 am to make sure the campus is cleared before other staff arrive. At the SFCH campus, it’s especially challenging this year due to the ongoing dining hall construction.
Thanks to the Facilities team, winter is safe and fun for CHS kids. And now it’s also fun because kids can see their snowplow artwork on display and in action all season long.
