Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month!
Sioux Falls Children’s Home campus:
Gabby Larson: My nomination for employee of the month is Gabby Larson. Gabby has stepped into a TC role at Madsen Up and is doing a fantastic job. She remains positive when times are tough and is always working hard to guide her team, figure out challenges that present and does her very best. Gabby works to be part of solutions, is open to ideas from others, and she always has the best attitude. THANK YOU, Gabby, for pushing through and working so hard at Madsen Up. I am SO glad you are part of the team!

Kay Curl: I nominate the entire Housekeeping Team for Employee of the Month! Kay. Kay gives her all, every moment of every shift. No matter what surprises come her way (extra laundry, spot removal, etc.) she carries on with a smile on her face, never, ever complaining. But what impresses me the most is how much she truly cares about the children who are in our care. That they have a clean, healthy, safe environment in which to live. Kay has been an honor and a blessing to work with over the past year and two months, she is an honor and blessing to CHS. Thank you Kay, for EVERYTHING you do.

Teresa Pick: Teresa has spent countless hours orchestrating huge changes and improvements for all of CHS, while only in her first few months of employment. She dove head first into New Employee Orientation creation as well as the heftiness of Paylocity implementation. All of that is a feat in itself, though I am truly thankful for the support she offers us as a team as we move through this process together. There have been many questions, a multitude of challenges, and an exciting amount of little victories- all backed with much support from our leader!! Thank you, Teresa, for all that you bring to our team through meticulous planning while maintaining a calm head and the ability to laugh things off. You are greatly appreciated!

Black Hills Children’s Home campus:
Diane Giesen: Diane has worked tirelessly to create an amazing summer activities folder for the kids this summer. She calls it the "Folder of Fun". This is the list of all the places she called to get activities for the kids this summer: Bear Country USA Dinosaur Museum Reptile Gardens Old MacDonald's Farm Black Hills Area State Parks Rapid City area Swimming Pools Elks Theatre Summer Movie Program (with concession certificates) Evans Plunge Pool Holy Terror Mini Golf Ft. Hayes Rollercoaster Rides This helps the Direct Care staff out tremendously. They don't have to worry about setting anything up or how they will pay for it. Everything is right there for them to use. They have many options of fun activities to take kids to throughout the summer because of your hard work. In all of my years at CHS I have not seen a folder like this set up for the kids. Amazing work.

Renee Grosuch: Throughout the gigantic learning curve of Paylocity implementation, Renee has continued to be a tenacious teammate. She was tasked with the responsibility of giving all Black Hills employees the trainings on Paylocity time and labor- without any present support from the rest of her team. Of course we were all cheering her on from a state length away, though she executed those trainings all with her own willpower. That is incredible! Thank you, Renee, for being such a strong team member and for going above and beyond to support your Black Hills staff in this system improvement of Paylocity! You rock and are greatly appreciated!!
~Nominated by Kaela Larkin
Theresa Schreiner: Theresa Schreiner will do whatever it takes to make an event run smoothely! And she always does such a wonderful job...making lots of connections with the community, making the event fun, having everything organized, making the plans for the next event, (even a year ahead of schedule), and getting lots of donations for our programs to run! The Kieffer Golf Event was over the top! Thank you Theresa...and Abby for all your hard work! It truly paid off!
~Nominated by Loni Anderson
Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety:
Cathy Rogers: Cathy is always amazing and makes sure our kids are well fed and feel cared for. Last week we had one of our kids graduate from High School which we all know is a huge deal. Cathy went out of her way to make and decorate a beautiful cake for this young lady’s graduation party. She went above and beyond to use the colors and decorations this young lady requested. She also cooked up the meat for our Nacho bar and it was delicious. Thank you Cathy for making this young lady feel cared for and special!
