Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month at Black Hills area campuses:

Efrain Stevens: Efrain is an excellent staff member who can be relied upon to help getting morning wake ups done in a short amount of time. Efrain often handles our more difficult children on the west unit. Through his patience, perseverance and a sixth sense, Efrain is able to deal with most any problem and get the children to breakfast and school. Thanks Efrain for everything you do here. You are a great example to all of us at Black Hills Children Home.

Diane Geisen: Since she began working here, Diane has shown great interest in learning her position and helping others with theirs. Thank you so much.

Steve Field: We currently have one SCM trainer on the Black Hills campus and that is Steve Field. Steve works extra hours to make sure he can train staff in SCM and doesn't complain about it. He is humble and doesn't want recognition for the extra things he does. He has changed his entire schedule to meet the needs of the campus and strives to support the teams he works with. Steve can't be everywhere all the time, but I know lots of staff that wish he could be. As for choosing kindness, I don't usually have staff that receive gifts from the organization ask if we have families in need that they could donate their gifts to. But that is what I have seen Steve do. These things as well as many other small things that Steve does behind the scenes that nobody else knows that he does are what makes a difference throughout the year.

JaeLynn Garry: JaeLynn has done an amazing job since she joined our family. She is a joy to work with and demonstrates positivity in everything she does. She is extremely kind and is willing to go above and beyond for both clients and teammates. She has graciously taken on extra tasks and demonstrates empathy in every interaction. I’m so proud to do this work with her and I know she is having a profound impact on all she encounters.

Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month at Sioux Falls Children’s Home campus:

Lauren Blue: Lauren, a Madsen down staff, graciously agreed to move units and help out our team when we were two people short on the overnight at Van Demark house. She helped with duties and responsibilities on an unfamiliar unit. Thanks so much Lauren.

Kayla Siemonsma: When I first started working at CHS Loving School, I noticed immediately how caring, calm, and kind she is. She has a calming sense about her. Before she left for maternity leave and still after, I have seen her with the kids in her class, and she is always so kind and uses a soft voice. That to me, lets kids know she is there to help and keep safe and feel loved.
