Employees of the Month winners are chosen at random among all of the nominations submitted from each CHS location area. Follow the link at the bottom of this page to nominate an employee who has been Working for Good!
Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month at Sioux Falls Children’s Home campus:
Angela Smith: Angie is always helping out the rest of us in Community Based Services. This month she volunteered to assist "behind the scenes" by providing backup and taking attendance during our Adoption conference and during Ondrea & Vanessa's Trauma Informed Parenting course. I saw her assisting a colleague getting materials ready for a presentation, helping organize the food drive, and many other tasks that often go unnoticed. Angie is a great listener and support to her CBS team!

Molly Schoenfelder: Molly has REALLY helped us out recently when we've been short staffed and even when it's been last minute. Having people like this who can competently come in and help keep our team together and take care of kids is such a necessity and it is so appreciated by all of us. Thank you Molly for all the you do campus wide!!

Tom Roberts: Tom was a big part of the planning committee for the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety ground-breaking event. Along with helping with many of the planning details, Tom lead the effort to coordinate having everything set up for the day. Plans were to set up the tent one day ahead of time, but due to the wind that was delayed until the morning of the event. So Tom was on-site at 5:00 a.m. to greet the folks who came to set up the tent. In addition to being the first one there, he coordinated the details and also physically helped with set up, Tom stayed after the event to help with the follow-up details and he was the last person to leave. Thanks Tom, for your part in what turned out to be a terrific event!

I cannot thank Tom enough for all of the time and effort he put into making sure the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety groundbreaking event went off without a hitch! He coordinated deliveries, set up (even at 5am), sound, stage, signage, and much more. He took it to the next level of making sure things were perfect when he spent the day before the groundbreaking filling dirt into holes on the grounds and picking up garbage. We are all grateful for what Tom did for this event and for what he does each and every day for CHS. He is amazing!

Congratulations to the following winner for Employee of the Month at Children’s Inn/Bright Start:
Kate Feilmeier: Kate was handed a project that started as a vision of mine well over two years ago. In that time, The Training Binder turned into a group effort that dwindled down to myself and couple others and then soon was dropped because of turnover and full plates. Kate picked it up over a year ago and was determined to finish it. It was not easy and took more hours than I can even imagine but, she finished it! Not only is it what I had envisioned but it's well organized and color coded. I am so excited to start utilizing this with new employees along with our current employees. Way to go Kate!

Darlene Hillmer: Darlene jumped in to teach an SCM class at the very last minute. Thank you Darlene for turning your car around to make sure staff received the training they needed. This is a true example of a team player! I appreciate you!
