Employee of the Month
Congratulations to the following winner for Employee of the Month at Black Hills Children’s Home:
Nichole Knepp: Nichole truly embodies the CHS values in her work every day. She has high expectations of herself and strives to ensure she provides quality services to the children, youth, and families with which she serves. Nichole has been a strong collaborator within Community Based Services and although she understands her role as a TFC therapist, lends her expertise to further the other programs we offer as well. While Nichole is a fierce advocate for herself, her clients, as well as her team, she delivers solution feedback with kindness and professionalism. Thank you, Nichole, for being such a valuable member of the Black Hills Community Based Services team!!

Congratulations to the following winner for Employee of the Month at Children’s Inn/Bright Start:
Marci Frazier: I nominated Marci Because she is always so caring and helpful. This past week we had a child that was a handful and demonstrated a very negative attitude. Even when Marci seemed frustrated, I watched her remain calm and positive as she encouraged and reengaged the child to the activity at hand. Marci is a joy to work with and I enjoy her patience and positive attitude with anything that is happening. Thank you, Marci!!!

Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month at Sioux Falls Children’s Home:
Mark Niemeyer: Mark has been extremely helpful to me in the short time he has been with CHS.
His first assignment was to help me finalize the Influenza Vaccination Policy. He passed with flying colors!
His next assignment was to help bring a new RN on board. I was able to get the "cream of the crop" with his help. And these are just a couple of things he helped ME with. I can't imagine all the other things he has on his plate. Mark, thank you! I truly appreciate your kindness and willingness to work together with me.

Jesse Groeneweg: Jesse stepped in to help me serve meals on the weekend when I was here alone. Thank you, Jesse, for helping. I couldn't have gotten through it without your help.
Nominated by Karen Heinricy
Ariel Glissendorf: Ariel and some staff worked together to create some consistency across teams on both sides of the week. They talked about what rules and expectations could be the same to create consistent caregiving for the kids on the unit. Thanks, Ariel, for being a great team player!!!! I appreciate you and all you do for Madsen Down!
Nominated by Kelly Van Den Berg
Madsen Down had 2 staff members out due to pending COVID-19 tests. After no part-time staff were available to assist, Ariel agreed to work an extra shift that really helped get us through the week. Her willingness to work that Friday was even more important as we were getting a new admission that day. Ariel has been such a great fit for our unit and her approach to handling our kids only makes this unit better.
