ASK THE CEO:
You Asked. We Answer.

A new question to Ask The CEO was submitted on the GOOD WORKS portal:

Parents are paying about $11,400 per year per child for childcare. In order for childcare to be “affordable,” a family would have to make more than $163,000 annually for one child. That’s nearly two-and-a-half times the median household income in Sioux Falls.

Most parents—as many as 9 in 10—in Sioux Falls cannot afford childcare. Based on federal definitions of affordability, childcare should take no more than 7% of annual household income. Would there ever be a point that CHS would help pay for childcare for its employees

Thanks for the message regarding child-care reimbursements. We know the cost of daycare continues to be a challenging part of many household budgets.

Every two years, CHS reviews the total rewards package which includes various benefits. Benefits such as childcare are reviewed for potential consideration. Your question is on our radar, and I appreciate this important issue being brought forth.

Our goal is to provide the very best comprehensive benefits package which is aligned with the marketplace.

Thanks for sending along your question!
