Volunteer at Caring For The Kids

Here’s an opportunity to use your VPTO (Volunteer, Paid Time Off), have fun and help CHS at our biggest fundraising event of the year: Caring for the Kids (CFTK). Last year’s CFTK event netted more than  $500,000 for all CHS programs!

We depend on the help of volunteers to make this event a success, and typically many staff do volunteer. For the banquet on the evening of Sunday, August 4, we have 12–15 openings. For the golf tournament on Monday, August 5, we have 5–7 openings.

To volunteer or get additional information, please contact Faron Lais, Volunteer Coordinator, at Faron.Lais@chssd.org. She needs to order special shirts for volunteers by June 21, so don’t wait.

CFTK Celebration Banquet, Sunday, August 4:

DINING ROOM HOST

4:15 P.M.–End of Event

Your duties include:

• Greeting guests, showing them to their tables, answering any questions
• Providing information/directions as to the location of the restrooms, silent and live auction packages, complementary wine
• Picking up pledge cards from guests during and after the program
• Assist with clean up after the event.

GENERAL GUEST CHECK-IN

4:15 P.M.–End of Event

Your duties include:

• Greeting guests, completing check-in and marking registration list
• Write the table number and bidder number on the bottom of their ticket
• Please be sure to ask if there is anyone else in their party or if they are checking in for anyone else
• Direct guests to Dining Room Hosts who will guide them to their table
• Volunteer dinner is served in rooms 6 and 7 from 4:30-7:00 pm. Please return to the event after your dinner to help with the event and clean up.

For the Golf Tournament August 5:

HOLE HOST

(Champion Course): 8:20 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

(Executive Course): 10:20 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

• Please bring a fully charged cell phone with you to communicate with coordinators as needed. Also please bring your own lawn chair, and an umbrella. The tournament continues rain or shine.
• Check in at the Volunteer Registration Tent. You will be shuttled to your designated location by the Relief Cart Drivers.
• Please greet golfers, and inform them of the hole contest, what they can win, and who sponsored it.
• Check off the name of the teams on your list as they play your hole.
• A relief cart will provide beverages, snacks and be available to cover for restroom breaks. Lunch is provided in the club house after your shift.
