Families celebrate together, laugh and cry together, and care for one another. For many of us, the CHS Family is an extension of our own. Here are a few pages from our own CHS Scrapbook.

A “Moving-on” Party for Jeanne…

As reported previously, longtime Madsen Upstairs Clinical Unit Supervisor Jeanne Weyens transitioned to a new position as Therapist with Shelter for Family Safety and Bright Start. Residential staff had a moving-on party for Jeanne in December.

“Jeanne has been a strong leader, advocate for children and has used her amazing clinical skills to teach staff and our clinical team for many years,” says Lisa Johnson. “Her insight into the needs of children and their families has paved a path to healing for so many. She has focused on teaching staff to be compassionate, attuned and trauma- informed, even before that term was being used.”

“Jeanne has shown us the importance of perseverance and resiliency in how we help children to address the hardest parts of life, and how we need to do those same things to provide the best care. I am so thankful that she will be with Children’s Home Society to continue providing that care, just at a new address.”

Dawn Endsley Becomes New Unit Supervisor

Jeanne Weyens leaves some big shoes to fill, and Dawn Endsley is just the right person for the job!

Lisa Johnson writes, “Dawn has dedicated years to being a detective, interviewer and getting to the roots of issues. By learning the histories of our children and their families, she is able to engage with them to promote safety, growth, and healing. She is gifted with being able to pick out core issues, and break them down into smaller parts, providing directions for families and staff on how to help. She has all the knowledge and experience needed to move into the role of guiding and teaching staff, understanding the nuances that are specific to those just beginning their journey at CHS.”

Congratulations Dawn!
