Families celebrate together, laugh and cry together, and care for one another. For many of us, the CHS Family is an extension of our own. Here are a few pages from our own CHS Scrapbook.

Welcome, Atreus!

BHCH Recreation Coordinator Seth Montieth and his wife, Avery, welcomed Atreus Reign Montieth at 11:28 pm on January 27, 2023.

Atreus was 20.25 inches long and weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces. Congratulations to the family!

Welcome, CeCe!

SFCH Residential Youth Counselor, Ray Mungro and her husband Rauschaud, welcomed their new baby girl into the world on Monday, January 30, at 9:19am.

Her name is Cienna “CeCe” Mae Mungro, and she is beautiful—weighing in at 7.2 pounds and 19.5 inches—with lots of hair! As you can imagine, both parents are completely in love with their new baby girl.

Congrats, Alicen!

Mental Health Therapist Alicen Hauck at Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety completed the necessary requirements to receive her Licensed Professional Counselor credentials.

Co-workers at Shelter for Family Safety celebrated Alicen's achievement at their staff meeting.

Lynelle Andal to Retire

SFCH Administrative Assistant Lynelle Andal has announced she will be retire from her position, effective March 3, 2023. Lynelle has kept the Madsen House running smoothly for more than 14 years!

Lynelle gently offers hospitality as she greets and makes guests and callers feel comfortable and cared for. Children also feel comfortable with Lynelle and have thoroughly enjoyed their spontaneous little connections, regularly “surprising” and “scaring” Lynelle over the years.

As a supportive and non-judgmental listener, Lynelle has probably heard more than her share about staff’s personal lives. She is stellar at researching and investigating, quickly digging into her archives for the answer to almost any question. Over the years, Lynelle has refined systems to keep track of practically everything! Whether organizing timeliness, typing dictation, formatting letters, laminating projects, coordinating discharge notices, ordering requests or completing any number of other assignments, Lynelle has been behind the scenes supporting much of the excellent work done at CHS.

CHS is certainly better for all of Lynelle’s work. We are sad to see her go, but excited for what adventures retirement might bring for her.

Griebel Signs with Northwestern

SFCH Occupational Therapist Jen Crisp-Griebel reports that her son, Tark Griebel, has signed to play soccer next fall at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. Tark was captain of this year’s Sioux Falls Christian State “A” Championship team and is a three-peat state champion. He also plays club soccer for Tea Tempo Thunderbolts.
