DEI Committee Suggests Summer Fun Activity
Looking for something fun, different and interesting to do this summer? Attending a powwow is a great way to broaden your horizons—expose yourself or your children to something new—and have a great time.
Powwows happen year-round, and are often held outdoors in the summer.
- Flandreau Powwow: July 14-16, 2023
- Oglala Nation Powwow and Rodeo: August 3-6, 2023
- Kul Wicasa Oyate (Lower Brule Nation) Fair, Rodeo & Powwow: August 10-13, 2023
- Crow Creek Dakota Nation Wacipi: Third weekend in August
- Rosebud Fair, Rodeo and Powwow: Fourth weekend in August

Poker Run Proceeds Benefit CHS
Looking for something to do next weekend—and help Children’s Home Society? Join those Guys ABATE on Sunday, July 16, for a poker run with proceeds to benefit CHS.
The poker run starts at Cheap Shots Sports Grill at the Tea exit, with
sign in from 11:00 am–1:00 pm. The $10 entry fee includes lunch provided by Marlin’s Restaurants and the S.D. Pork Producers. For more information, contact: Dave Brende: (605) 940-3535.
