Wrap Up Your VTO for 2023! 

Looking for ways to use your Volunteer Time Off (VTO)? We have a great opportunity to do so at the Gift Wrap Booth this holiday season! This event takes place at the Empire Mall and benefits Children's Home Shelter for Family Safety. 

It takes almost 500 volunteers to make this event happen! We have 2- to 8-hour shifts available during the daytime, evening and weekend from December 1–24. Please visit with your supervisor for any questions regarding using VTO for this opportunity.

A Helpful Smile and More from Hy-Vee

From November 8-14, Sioux Falls Hy-Vee Stores will collect Operation Helpful Smile donations for CHS!

Each week, a different, pre-determined, area nonprofit organization receives a monetary donation from Hy-Vee. Donation boxes placed at the checkout stands of Sioux Falls Hy-Vee Stores collect customer contributions for each week’s chosen organization.

Hy-Vee, with the help of its program sponsors, matches these customer contributions up to $1,000 each week. The better each group promotes, spreads the word, and encourages customer contributions, the greater the donation the organization will receive.

The CHS Apparel Store is open for business! New this fall: an updated version of the logo for Loving School Wolves in the SpiritWear section. From hats to hoodies, there’s something for everyone! Click this link to place your order by Thursday, Nov. 30. The store will then be closed for production and delivery time.

Two questions were submitted this week to Ask Us: 

1) We have had several positions open up lately within the agency. Some of these position vacancies are a direct result of leadership’s unwillingness to work with their employees on their schedules, family lives, and needs, despite job performance reviews being high... 

2) Why are residential staff unable to use the Subarus? It seems unfair that we cannot use them, and that administration staff are able to use the vans. Also, can we make it simple and put it on an Excel spreadsheet...
