Spot Awards Are Back at CHS
At CHS, we are passionate about choosing kindness, being tenacious and proving we are better together. However, we know that there are many occasions when staff surpass expectations and go beyond their normal work obligations to help our clients and their colleagues. This is why we are excited to announce that Spot Awards have returned to CHS!
A Spot Award is a form of recognition for employees who show exceptional performance, achievements, or contributions. Staff who go above and beyond regular job expectations, show initiative and demonstrate teamwork are eligible to receive a Spot Award. Awards may be given any time the Executive team deems a staff member is eligible.
The Spot Award is not exclusive to CHS. Organizations use these awards to immediately acknowledge and appreciate an employee’s efforts, making the recognition timelier and more meaningful. At CHS, we are always looking for new ways to recognize the wonderful work our employees do, and that’s why we decided to bring back the Spot Awards.

Sioux Falls Staff Move Offices
Rapid City isn’t the only campus that’s transforming! Earlier this month, some Sioux Falls staff relocated offices to improve efficiency and teamwork. One major change is Bright Start staff moving their offices to Shelter for Family Safety.
After assessing the Admin Building on the SFCH campus, Facilities Director Clinton Hubers and his team identified areas that could improve connectivity between departments.
“We found teams scattered throughout the Admin facility and separated from their respective departments,” said Clinton. “We are hoping that these moves not only increase efficiency but also improve connectivity within groups and help employees easily find other departments.”
The goal was to have everyone relocated into their new spaces by April 1 and, as of last week, all staff moves were completed. Click here to see the building schematics.
APRIL CELEBRATIONS
Spring is officially here! There is so much to celebrate, including this month’s staff birthdays and work anniversaries. Take a few moments to help your coworkers enjoy their special day!
GWW IS TRANSFORMING

CHS SCRAPBOOK
Shelter for Family Safety welcomed some adorable fluffy visitors earlier this month. Staff and clients snuggled with week-old ducklings and watched them waddle around the multi-purpose room. Assistant Program Supervisor Gwen Betz said, “This was great self-care! It’s amazing how many smiles and laughter these four little ducklings brought to Shelter!”
One of our favorite fluffy friends, Tyka, returned to the winner’s circle with her owner, SFCH Preschool/Kindergarten Teacher Cheryl Lundin. Tyka earned a few new show titles to add to her resume.
