Pet Name: Kippen and Cannon

Short bio/adoption story: I adopted Kippen 7 years ago from the Rapid City Humane Society when she was 9 months old as a Christmas gift for my daughter, Cameo. Cameo helped pick out Cannon a week ago at the Rapid City Humane Society for her and my 4-year-old Odessa. Cannon is thrilled to be around Kippen, but Kippen does not share the same level of enthusiasm when it comes to Cannon YET.

Age: Kippen is 7 years and Cannon is 6 months

Breed: They are both Tuxedo cats, matching outfits for life!

Favorite food: Kippen loves tortillas and Cannon can be found trying to eat lotion, fish tank water, and he really wants to try Nutella… but so far, his attempts at this have failed!

Favorite nap spot: Cannon wants to nap on the bed and Kippen chooses the couch.

Favorite toy: Kippen bats around anything she can find on the floor and Cannon knocks items down to the floor. Go team!

Favorite activity: Cannon likes to join Odessa in whatever activity she is involved in, which most recently was gardening. He got in the mud with her and was very curious to taste the flowers.

Naughtiest habit: Cannon wants to get in the fish tank, it seems anyhow. Kippen used to bring in birds (dead or alive), packrats, snakes, voles, and various other critters for me to capture and then release somewhere safe. Since moving into town, that has not been an issue!

Biggest pet peeve: Cannon would rather fight anyone than be given a bath. Kippen would rather Cannon not follow her every move but she’s still adjusting.

Funniest memory with your pet: Kippen has been in many dresses, strollers, car seats, and so on as she has grown up with Cameo. Cannon too, is seeing his fair share of stroller time and I’m sure there is more to come!

What are some of your pet’s nicknames? Kippen is “legally” named Snowflake. We call her Kippen, Kippen Mariah Carey, and Kippen Marie. Cannon is called Canyon, or Flower Cannon according to my 4-year-old, Odessa.
