Pet of the Month

Pet Name: Ava Goose

Pet Owner & CHS Position: Haley Sanow, Human Resources Representative

Short bio/adoption story:
Tanner (my boyfriend) and I got Ava from our friend, Matthew, who owns “Ultimate British Labs.” We’ve always known that we would get a puppy from him as he is known to breed great hunting dogs. Ava will begin training for hunting around May. We saw one picture of her and knew she had to be ours. We never even met her before we brought her home! Fun fact: Tanner and Matthew were roommates in college and Tanner got to live with Ava’s dad, Ace, for a year! Ace is the best dog, so we really wanted one of his puppies.

P.S. There are puppies available as you’re reading this and more coming soon if you want a cute puppy like her

Age:
15 weeks

Breed:
British Lab. (They tend to be smaller and calmer as compared to an American Lab). She will only reach about 40-45 lbs!

Favorite food:
Chicken and Rice puppy food and she LOVES Himalayan bones. They keep her occupied for hours.

Favorite nap spot:
Right next to any human and she likes to bury her face when she sleeps.

Favorite toy:
Her ball!

Favorite activity:
Playing with frozen bird wings and running up and down the street. We use this as a tactic to get her to sleep through the night. It works very well.

Naughtiest habit:
Grabbing any sock she can get to or biting our hands. She hasn’t lost her puppy teeth yet, so she feels the need to constantly chew on things.

Biggest pet peeve:
If are sitting somewhere that she can’t get to (at the kitchen table) she gets really mad and starts whining. She has to constantly be able to see us and touch us. We’re still working on boundaries with her.

Funniest memory with your pet:
Watching her pounce on all of her toys. It’s the cutest thing ever.
