Congratulations to the following winners for Employee of the Month!

Sioux Falls Children’s Home campus:

Breckin Stielen: Breckin, you did a stand out job as ATC during break week. Calm. Attentive. Trauma informed work. Lead by example. Planned and implemented FUN activities. Held kids accountable with a teaching approach. Breckin is such a valued and strong staff at Madsen House and CHS! Thank you, Breckin, for sharing your gifts with all of us.
~ Nominated by Jeanne Weyen

Erin Kuestermeyer: Erin K is always there to help out when a class or a staff needs it. Erin was helping out with multiple peers that were in other classrooms when no one asked her to for quite a majority of an afternoon. Erin always checks in on everyone and doesn't hesitate to jump in when needed to assist. Even after an exhausting day she still has a smile on her face that shows so much kindness and comradery. We appreciate her and are bless to have her a part of our CHS family!! Thank you for everything you do Erin!!!!!
~ Nominated by Paige Knuth

Kris Evans: Kris came in to help on the unit for a weekend afternoon during break week when we were short staffed!! THANK YOU, Kris, for coming across the pavement and helping out. So greatly appreciated! We ARE better together!
~ Nominated by Jeanne and the Madsen Up Staff

Black Hills Children’s Home campus:

Telscha Alderson: Thanks Telscha for stepping up during my vacation, as well as, being flexible filling in for room 6. Greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
~Nominated by Tara Chayka

Shannan ClingmanShannan always exhibits kindness and understanding with the kids. She is always there to help other staff with questions and is a great leadership role to have on our team.
~Nominated by Lauren Feldt

Jennifer Arnold: As the only Advocate in our program, Jen often handles the difficult calls. Sometimes they are from parents that are scared and frustrated, and sometimes they are from partners who need a little help understanding all the process. Even when these callers do not choose kindness, Jen does. She has had a string of critical conversations that needed to be had, and she moved through each of them with empathy and grace. Jen always stays in a place that seeks to understand the other person's position, which makes her phenomenal in her role.
~Nominated by Tifanie Petro

Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety:

Darlene HillmerWhat would we have done without Darlene’s help on the night in June when we had 2 runaway boys. The overnight staff was so thankful that you stayed later than your scheduled shift. You helped us get through and were calm with handling things. We appreciate all you did that night in staying calm and directing us when needed.
