Q: Is there any possibility that in the future bereavement leave will be offered to part-time employees? If a loved one passes, part-time employees have shifts that they are already scheduled for. End-of-life services could have an impact on their working days, yet they are unable to take off with bereavement at this time.

A: We appreciate the thoughtful question. Currently, paid bereavement leave is only available to full-time employees. While this benefit does not extended to part-time staff, we understand the significance of end-of-life events and remain committed to supporting employees through these moments. We encourage part-time employees to connect with their supervisor or HR to explore scheduling flexibility when these situations arise. Again, we appreciate feedback like this, it helps inform future conversations as we continue to evaluate how best to support all employees.
