Thanks for your Ask Us questions. We also encourage you to pose questions first to your supervisors, when possible. They have more understanding of specifics within your department.
Q: With the kick off of United Way which is a valuable asset of the community, Management spreads the word to Supervisors to have everyone involved but it seems there is no involvement from the executive committee. In the past the executive committee would be involved in the basket raffle, different dress up days, soup cook off and other designated days but now they seem non existent. We all play a part but it seems upper management doesn't want to play.
A: Thanks for your comment and the reminder that the Executive Team should be having more fun! We have had competing priorities taking us in different directions around the state. However, we promise to do better in the future.
Q: Just learning of the Pow Wow committee, why was the opportunity to serve on this committee not offered to all employees? Is there a reason it was formed without the fair opportunity for all to volunteer?
A: Thanks for asking about the powwow committee. To ensure that the powwow was culturally appropriate and respectful, representatives from CHS joined forces with Tribal people from the community to create a committee. The full committee was quite large, resulting in lengthy meetings, which was why we did not invite additional volunteers from CHS. We expect the process of planning powwows in the future to be more streamlined, making room for more volunteers on the committee. You may visit with Director of Events & Volunteer Management Erica Krohn about these opportunities.
