A Grrreat Day at Great Plains Zoo

From roaring lions to slithering snakes, wild animals welcomed our Sioux Fallsresidential kiddos for an adventure at the Great Plains Zoo.

The kids explored the different animal habitats—taking in the sights, sounds and excitement of their favorite zoo creatures. They saw everything from bears and monkeys to snakes and tigers. After exploring the zoo, the children headed to the Zoo Farm, where they fed some of the animals. They also cooled off at the splash pad and topped off the day with a spin on the Sanford Carousel.

Everyone had a blast, and a few children were already planning their next visit on the ride back to CHS. One kiddo said, “Next time, we need to come here at 1:15 when they do the creature feature. I’m going to hold a snake and tell my grandpa. He will be so jealous!”
