Spendwise Update - August 3, 2025

We’ve received a few questions about the new purchasing policy—specifically, how to make a purchase request if you don’t have access to the new system.

If you weren’t among the 70 people who received a link to Spendwise but still need to submit a purchase request, please contact your Administrative Assistant, Supervisor or Director. You can also email Purchasing Coordinator Kim Knopf to make a request.

“The system is set up for Admins and Supervisors to put in the order which then is approved by the Supervisor, Director or C-Suite, depending on approval limit,” said Kim. “Once approved, it comes to me and the order is placed. When the order is received, all receipts need to come to me directly for accounting purposes.”

When requesting an item, make sure to include a clear description. The more information you can provide—color, size, other details—the better chance the person putting the order in will find exactly what you want. If you have a website link, you may also include that as well.

Spendwise Procurement System

CHS is rolling out a new purchasing request system! Spendwise will primarily serve administrative assistants and supervisors who place orders for various items.

While Spendwise is new to many CHS employees, Purchasing Coordinator Kim Knoff shared that implementing this system has been a two-year process.

“This has taken about two years to set up because we first had to write a purchasing policy, and everyone had to agree on it,” said Kim. “It’s exciting to finally reach this point and have the system in place. I can’t wait to see how this will streamline our ordering process.”

Kim explained that anything can be ordered through Spendwise. “Whether it be office supplies, snacks for the units, clothing for the kids, or Amazon orders—Spendwise can handle it all.”
