Tell us about your family, including pets.
I’m very close with my immediate family. I was raised by wonderful parents, and I have three sisters—all of whom are married with children.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Hosmer, South Dakota.

What are some of your favorites:
-Movies? I love the “Lord of the Rings” movies.
-TV shows? My favorite TV show is “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
-Books? I enjoy history books, but “A Song of Ice and Fire” series is probably my favorite.
-Musicians? Bob Seger, Foreigner and Boston are the best.
-Sports or teams? I claim the Dallas Cowboys—unfortunately.

What are your hobbies?
I love hunting and fishing. When I’m indoors, I’m usually playing video games.

What’s something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I was in the men’s choir at SDSU. And before you ask—no, I will not sing for you.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Put yourself in someone else’s situation before you say or do anything.

Please provide two truths and a lie about yourself.

  1. I currently have no pets.
  2. I have run a marathon.
  3. I am a decent swimmer.

(Answer below)

What are some of the changes you have seen over your years with CHS?
I’ve seen major policy changes regarding grounding, runaways and other precautions to adapt and better help our clients.

Can you share a special memory or two from your time with CHS?
Working with an amazing team as an Overnight TC has been one of the best parts of my time here.

Do you have any advice for newly-hired employees?
Listen to advice from the experienced staff—but don’t refrain from forming your own opinions and creating your own solutions.

Is there anything else you’d like to say about your time at CHS?
The years have gone by insanely fast, but I have enjoyed my time here!

Michael is a great swimmer and currently has no pets. If you guessed number two as his lie, you’re correct.
