Children’s Home Society is one step closer to implementing the Science of Hope throughout the organization. Seventeen staff members from all CHS locations attended a two-day Hope Navigator training on September 4 and 5 in Sioux Falls. Chan Hellman, PhD, one of the founders of the Hope movement, teamed up with Angela Pharris, MSW, PhD, to provide the training (photos shown here).
The Science of Hope was first introduced to CHS Directors, followed by two-hour training for more than 200 employees. The Hope Navigator training was a more intensive experience, preparing participants to become organizational champions and employee resources for Hope.
According to CHS COO Deana Larson, approximately 250 CHS employees have now had some Hope training. The next step will be training several Hope Ambassadors, who will head up the process of integrating Hope Theory into all CHS programs and departments.
