Tell us about your family.
I have been married to my husband Doug, for 31 years. We have two daughters, Lana and Maryn, and one granddaughter, Addie, who will soon be 8. We have two future sons-in-law, Ron and Bryce. I also have my two fur babies, Bella and Chloe.

If you could do anything you want on a day off, what would you do?
Go to a tropical place and relax by the water.

What are your 3 favorite movies?
The Wizard of Oz—because I have fond memories of sitting together with my grandma and watching it on TV as a little girl.
Remember the Titans—a very powerful movie with a great message.
Dirty Dancing—because it was the first movie my husband I went to see together.

What is your favorite sports team?
Minnesota Vikings

What is your favorite treat?
I love chocolate, especially chocolate covered peanuts.

What are some of the biggest changes you have seen over your years with CHS?
When I started teaching here in 1989, there were only four buildings on campus: the school (with no gym), the Administration building, the Van Demark House, and the maintenance garage. Seeing the growth and expansion all over campus has been awesome to be a part of.

Do you have a memory or two that stand out from your time with CHS?
One memory that stands out is when the addition was completed to the school, linking us to the Van Demark House, and we moved into our larger and more spacious classrooms during break week. That was an exciting time!

What has been your reason/motivation to stay at CHS?
I believe in our mission to help children and families and I appreciate how we are like a family.

If you hadn’t chosen this as a career, what would have been your second choice?
I probably would have pursued a career in Occupational or Physical Therapy.

What advice would you have for newly hired employees?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you are in doubt about something. Remember to have fun and enjoy the small things. Some days will be rough, but many more days will be rewarding and fulfilling.
