After working for 40 years at Children’s Inn/Shelter for Family Safety, Candy Koehn Lauck is retiring. Candy was currently serving as Assistant Program Supervisor. Staff at the shelter celebrated at a party last week with Candy, whom they fondly refer to as “The Legend!” Click here to see more party photos.
The Care Connections Committee at Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety hosted a “Cuddle With a Kitten” event on May 2. Four cats came to visit, and staff spent time cuddling and playing with kittens, which were brought by Almost Home Canine Rescue. Animals are available for adoption on their website— click here to see additional photos.
Questions submitted in May to ASK US included these two. Watch next week’s GOOD WORKS Weekly for the more!
Q: While it’s great that we have a solid executive-level presence at CHS, the members of this team are frequently unavailable due to multiple weekly committee meetings, leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, etc. With the organizational changes implemented at the executive level, will more opportunities be available for those interested in pursuing leadership opportunities (i.e., director-level or VP-level positions) that allow them to serve as an extension of the executive team as day-to-day decision-makers whose scope of work aligns with strategic priorities and values?
Q: When are we going to have wage transparency for administrative staff? A: Click here to read the answers to both questions in their entirety.
