Leaders to Watch
Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety Supervisors Kate Feilmeier and Emily Hall recently completed the Leaders of Tomorrow program through Think3D. The program is designed to
“develop influential leaders that will impact the world around them.”
They participated in the Non-Profit Cohort, along with other individuals from Sioux Falls-area nonprofits. During the 12-week course, they learned about Power of Culture, Effective Communication, POWER Coaching, Leadership 101, Power of Networking, Success Mindset and more. “Emily and Kate both gained so much knowledge and made many connections through the group,” says Program Director Amy Carter. “They left feeling inspired and motivated. I’m proud of them for seeking
out this professional development and for the growth they achieved.”
Volunteer Time Off Opportunities
Have you used your paid volunteer time off (VTO)? The Diversity Committee encourages employees to considering putting together a group of staff to volunteer in diverse settings within your community. Click here for a list of suggested volunteer opportunities in both the Sioux Falls and Black Hills areas on the GOOD WORKS portal. Thanks for the VTO!
Sioux Falls RYC Kent Glazier writes, “Thanks, CHS, for the Volunteer Time Off hours!
Last month I was able to help drive a group of high schoolers from Phoenix to Imuris, Mexico, where we
served at an orphanage for a few days!”
Thanks, Kent, for your volunteer service and for letting us know how you used your VTO. We encourage staff to share with us their VTO stories!
ASK THE CEO
You Asked. We Answer.
A new question was submitted to Ask The CEO.
We used to be able to do Children’s Inn apparel or Bright Start apparel. Why can’t we do this anymore—
especially with Bright Start currently being marketed statewide?

United Way Parking Spots
Just a friendly reminder that United Way Parking spots are reserved for those who won the raffle spots during the United Way Campaign. Please do not use these parking spaces even when they appear to be “open.” Recently, a few staff who arrive for shifts later in the day have had their spots taken. Thank you for your cooperation.
