DSS Licensing On-Site Visits in June

Annual DSS licensing on-site visits will begin June 20. These surveys are an opportunity to show the great work being done at CHS:

• June 20 (am): Children’s Home Shelter For Family Safety
• June 20 (pm): Community Based Services
• June 21–22: Sioux Falls Children’s Home
• October: Black Hills Children’s Home

Reviewers look at personnel records, children’s records, safety-risk data, food service data, etc. They will also interview a few staff and children and possibly take a campus tour. Staff interviews will be completed by phone prior to June 21.

Please make sure your training records are up to date with the required topics, including proof of current CPR and First Aid, for all direct care staff.
