Families celebrate together, laugh and cry together, and care for one another. For many of us, the CHS Family is an extension of our own. Here are a few pages from our own CHS Scrapbook.

Turkeys in the Kitchen
Check out these turkeys! The facilities crew took over the BHCH kitchen on Thanksgiving and served a delicious turkey feast for our Rockerville kiddos.

Shelter Craft Fair
Shelter hosted its first-ever craft fair, and staff had the chance to shop for unique, one-of-a-kind goodies. Vendors brought candles, resin art, upcycled clothing, macramé, glitter pens, bags, simmer-pot mixes, pendants, and so much more.

The best part? Every vendor at the craft fair was actually CHS staff!

“We wanted to host an event that supports small businesses and entrepreneurs,” said Erin McNeill, Assistant Program Supervisor.

Commander Flynn Reporting for Duty
Honorary Commander Flynn is back in action! Last week, Kara attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Ellsworth Air Force Base to celebrate the reopening of the runway. Emeritus Board Member John Rozell and his wife, Kay, joined her for this incredible experience!

Pizza Party
Our first Guess for Good pizza party happened last week! Therapist Chelsea Druzbacky was our staff winner from the Rapid City campus. She guessed that the Sioux Falls Admin case held 17,986 origami swans. Congratulations, Chelsea!

CHS Scrapbook: Friendsgiving

The Rapid City campus crew served up a generous helping of smiles, laughter and great food at their Friendsgiving potluck lunch.

Scrapbook: Stop, Drop and Roll

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue visited Loving School last Tuesday and Wednesday to teach students how to stay calm and best practices during a fire emergency. At the end of the presentation, the kids watched Firefighter Kyle put on all of her gear while Firefighter Paul explained how quickly firefighters need to move during an emergency.

Scrapbook: Thune Visits Campus

Senate Majority Leader John Thune visited our new Rapid City campus to learn about the comprehensive services we provide for children and families across South Dakota. He even donned a purple hard hat and toured the campus to see our latest construction progress firsthand.

KOTA Territory News was also able to tour the building. Watch their story here.
