Families celebrate together, laugh and cry together, and care for one another. For many of us, the CHS Family is an extension of our own. Here are a few pages from our own scrapbook.

Sioux Falls Thrive’s mission is dedicated to making sure all children succeed, from cradle to career. Amy Carter (Children’s Inn and Bright Start Program Director) is an active member of Thrive’s Housing Action Team. She was featured as the “Volunteer Spotlight” in Thrive’s May monthly newsletter. Thanks, Amy, for all of your great work in this community on behalf of children and families!

All in the family!
New to SFCH are Sidney Faber (Residential Youth Counselor) and Seth Wimmer (Intern/Relief Residential Youth Counselor). They may not even know one another, but they have something in common! Both Sidney’s and Seth’s parents worked at Sioux Falls Children’s Home during the 1990s. Cory and Erin Faber, and Aaron and Rebecca Wimmer were all Residential Treatment Counselors. Both of these couples met during their work at CHS.
Another little known fact (the ‘old-timers’ will know this): Morris Patzlaff also worked as a Family Therapist at Van Demark House in the late 1980s-90s. He is the father of Ondrea Patzlaff, our Director for Community Based Services in Sioux Falls. Before her current position, Ondrea was, like her father, a Family Therapist at Van Demark House.
