Dear Children’s Home Society Team Members:

It is my pleasure to announce that Karl Jegeris has been selected as Children Home Society’s Chief Operating Officer, replacing Muriel Nelson, effective December 3, 2020.

Karl joined CHS on June 30, 2020, after a 25-year career with the Rapid City Police Department. Karl has been working closely with Muriel and her team in his capacity as Director of Collaborative Excellence. This experience will help as he transitions into this new role.

“I am honored to be a part of the CHS team,” said Karl. "Since I began in late June, I have witnessed over and over again the deep compassion to others the collective CHS team has as we serve children, women, and families throughout South Dakota.  I’m looking forward to the future with optimism as the CHS legacy continues.”

I was delighted with the very qualified applicant pool and would like to offer a special thanks to all who applied. This sends a message you are seeking greater opportunities to grow within CHS and I am committed to ensuring we have career paths aligned with employee goals as much as possible.

Karl will be focused on determining the best organizational structure for his team which includes all of our program leadership.  I am delighted to welcome him to our senior team which includes Mark Niemeyer, Chief People Officer, Joe Herdina, Chief Financial Officer and Rick Weber, Director of Foundation.

Please help me welcome Karl to his new role within CHS.
