Middle School Math Teacher Jordan Hofer in Sioux Falls submitted this news about two Loving School students.
“I just wanted to give a positive shout-out for Savannah and Alex. A couple of months ago, they created and sent in entries to the Know Her Story Art & Essay Contest through the S.D. Historical Society (SDHS),” Jordan writes.
“Yesterday, they each got big envelopes in the mail from the SDHS’s CEO Catherine Forsch, thanking them for their entries. Although neither girl was the winner of the contest, they did both receive special prizes. They both will receive a $10 check from the SDHS. The SDHS asked both girls if they would be willing to send in their original entries (they were submitted digitally), since they both submitted big art projects. Both girls also received notecards with the positive, handwritten judges’ comments on their contest submission.”
“Savannah and Alex both were very excited to open the envelopes, see a letter from the SDHS, get a check, and just be recognized in general. It was nice to see them feel like they did something meaningful and important. Please feel free to congratulate the girls or mention it to them, as I’m sure they’d light up,” he writes.
