Thank you for the opportunity to ask questions! Wondering if you would consider having an incentive increase in PTO at 7 or 8 years? There is an increase at 5 years and then not until 10 years. Staff who have been working here between 5-10 years are valuable due to their experience and they have demonstrated commitment. It is a long haul to wait from 5 to 10 years with no increase in PTO.
So glad you asked the question! We intend to review all benefits each year and make adjustments based upon competitiveness and market demands. In addition we are reviewing salary wage bands and job descriptions. Thanks for your patience as our new Chief People Officer, Mark Niemeyer digs in to all these pressing issues which help make CHS a better place to work!
With the dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases, why hasn't CHS and all programs gone back to Phase 0? There are higher COVID-19 cases at this time, than there were when we "closed."
Since we received your question, Children’s Home Society has returned to Phase 1. At this time, we have decided not to implement the “work from home” policy for those whose jobs allow that flexibility. We feel we have learned to how to work safely together in our office environments with social distancing, masking, temperature taking, and good hand hygiene. The CHS team continues to keep our clients and each other safe. Thanks for all of your efforts to do so.
With the new time clock change at Bright Start it has become very complicated and time consuming to identify our daily NFP and NON NFP hours. Each day we need to copy and paste onto the time card our calculated hours, not raw hours. Wondering if there is a way that could automatically be on the time card so we don't need to copy and paste each time. We had very minimal instruction or guidance on how to do it when the change was made, we stumbled through it. It is a cumbersome, time consuming process and we wonder if it could be made a bit more user friendly and less complicated?
We have discussed this issue with PayStubz to determine if there is any other possible way to make time tracking easier. Unfortunately it appears there is not. The specifics of our grants and audits require these calculations and at this time PayStubz does not have any other method to calculate. We can, however, ensure you all have more training. Kathy Schneider and Amy Carter are both aware of the challenges and will certainly offer additional explanation.
