March Learning Series: Understanding Self-Care
These free trainings are open to everyone via Zoom, with registration required. You may choose to attend one, any or all sessions.
Self-care is important for any professionals who work with vulnerable children and/or adults, as well as for parents and even youth 14+. It’s especially important now, with many people experiencing burnout due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In these sessions, you will:
- Learn what self-care is and is not
- Understand the need for and ethics of self-care at an individual and organizational level
- Explore the various domains of self-care
- Discuss the components of a self-care safety plan
The Seven Domains of Wellness is a program developed by Dr. Nadine Burke Harris and the Center for Youth Wellness (CYW).
This organization is working to establish standard treatment protocols to improve the health of children and adolescents exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), recognizing that there are many ways to reduce the negative impacts of stress, including the increased stress as a result of COVID-19-related changes.
