Understanding the Neurobiology of Trauma: Building Intergenerational Resilience

This series will examine the foundations of the neurobiology of trauma and its impact on intergenerational resilience.

The first and third sessions will examine the intersection of brain development, trauma and resilience. Presentations will focus how ancestral experience can alter how our genes can be used by our cells, as well as the effects of intergenerational trauma and resilience. The second session will provide a deeper understanding of how generational trauma plays a role in contemporary Native American issues as well as recognizing the benefits of working across systems to enhance our response to generational trauma. This presentation will also help attendees identify unique opportunities to work collaboratively with a variety of community members.
