Understanding & Responding to the Sexualized Behaviors of Children

The first two sessions of this series, presented by Jessica Broullire and Teri Beeson, will examine the identification of problematic sexualized behaviors of children, the symptoms and behaviors of sexual abuse, and the best methods for response.

The final session with guest speaker Hollie Strand will address current trends in the online victimization of children and teens where computers, phones, tablets, emails, clouds, social media or other technology is used to facilitate a crime.

** Hollie Strand is a Forensic Examiner for the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Working in the field for the last 26 years, she has held the positions of police officer, forensic interviewer, and counselor with an extensive history providing therapy for individuals in the correctional system. She received her BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, MS in Counseling, South Dakota State University and MS in Forensic Science, Nebraska Wesleyan University.
