The Voice

Recently a woman stopped at a local eatery to pick up a pizza she had ordered.

When she entered the business and stepped up to the counter, the cook had his back to her.

But after she spoke, he turned around to face the person whose voice he had just heard.

He asked her if she had ever worked with children.

She said she had.

He asked, “Was it at Children’s Home Society?”

She said, “Yes—but it was about 19 years ago.”

He stepped forward and said, “I will never forget your voice. I knew when I heard it, it was that voice. It was so soothing and calming, and it meant so much to me when I was there.”

You can help be “The Voice” for children this Christmas season.

You just never know what is going to touch a child who has suffered trauma—what it is that will break down the wall of sadness, mistrust, and anger. And what will begin the healing of a child’s spirit and soul.

That healing takes place every day at Children’s Home Society thanks to gifted staff members and to friends whose generous support makes that happen for hurting children and families.

Your gifts help CHS be “The Voice” for children!
