Children’s Home Society of South Dakota (CHS) is pleased to announce that with generous support from businesses and individuals across South Dakota and beyond, CHS’s “Caring For the Kids” campaign has raised over $435,000!
This summer-long campaign included major sponsorships, a car raffle, an online auction, and gifts to grant special wishes for the kids. It all culminated on August 10 with a televised special on KELO TV to raise awareness about the work of CHS. In addition, a $50,000 challenge gift was given by brothers Gordon and Randy Spronk, who announced a match to all gifts given up to $50,000. As a result of this challenge, over $96,000 was raised, with gifts coming from 37 communities.
Michelle Gibbs of Sioux Falls was the winner of the 2020 Subaru Forester donated by Schulte Subaru.
“The coronavirus has certainly impacted our fundraising events this year. So we truly appreciate all of the ways that individuals and businesses have stepped up to support our work with children and families—especially now during these challenging times,” said Rick Weber, Development Director, Children’s Home Foundation.
